What is DAF ICAM Enablement?
Enablement connects your application to the DAF's centralized identity services. Integrations may proceed sequentially or in parallel, and each applicable service follows its own process.
For service responsibilities, see Understanding IdP and IGA. Use the comparison below to understand the integration paths considered after registration and assessment.
Enablement paths
| Aspect | Wingman | Assisted Enablement |
|---|---|---|
| Best For | Applications that are compatible with SAML or OIDC. | Applications with complex requirements or those not compatible with SAML or OIDC. |
| Key Approach | The requester submits an Okta Identity Governance (OIG) access request; once it is approved, Okta Workflows provision the application, its groups and its delegated administrator role. The Wingman Onboarding Tool is used only by the DAF ICAM Enablement Team. | A dedicated Standard or White Glove Pod, coordinated by an Engagement Manager, takes the application through assessment, discovery, build/connect, user acceptance testing and go-live. |
| Timeline | As little as two weeks, depending on your team's engagement. | Set by the complexity and level of effort (LOE) determined during assessment. |
IGA enablement
For IGA enablement, you will partner directly with a DAF ICAM specialist to configure your application's specific authorization requirements based on its unique needs. This collaboration is essential as it enables the new automated System Authorization Access Request (SAAR) process for your users.
The enablement process
Follow the Assisted Enablement lifecycle for Pod-led integration, or the Wingman workflow for automated onboarding.
